Rumor: Blazers Are In Talks With Eastern Conference Team For PG And SF.

By Sean Mackey

The word on the web today is that the Portland Trailblazers are currently in talks with an Eastern Conference team for a PG and SF. The Bulls and the Bobcats are the only two teams that make sense with this rumor that's being spread all over the Real GM's forums. The only player that we for sure know that is involved would be center Raef LaFrentz. LaFrentz is in the final year of his ridiculous $12,722,500 contract averaging a whopping 1.7 points a game. Yay for him.

If the deal is in talks with the Bulls, it would most likely be for Hinrich and Nocioni. The major pick up that we could steal in this trade would be Rudy Fernandez. It would give us a fresh, decent sized/athletic SG so the Bulls can let Gordon go after this season. We'd also have to pick up one more contract to help the numbers, Travis Outlaw making the most sense.

The deal could also swing the way of Charlotte with a straight up trade of Fernandez and LaFrentz for Gerald Wallace and Raymond Felton. It's also a deal that Portland suggests would make them a contender. I don't know if any of these trades make them a serious contender but then again, the Lakers are the only spectacular team out that way and the West is wide open this season.

Needless to say, I'd love to see Fernandez in a Bulls jersey, but it's probably a longshot.
